Balkan Music

Balkan music gives a different taste in terms of dynamic and harmonious richness. Participants in folk dance festivals know this genre very well. It can also be called an ethnic genre of music. In almost all countries of the Balkans, the melodies appealing to the ear are very similar and their enthusiasm is the same. Rumeli Turkish music also has an effect on Balkan music. It is a huge formation where tiny ethnic groups like this add their color. It is a musical tradition that immediately manifests itself in the music accumulations produced by the earth, and has very clear characteristics of both its melodies and their interpretation. The basis of this special formation is a combination of Slavic tradition, which roughly corresponds to the pre-Christian period, and elements from East Roman (Byzantine) and Ottoman. Slavic tradition, Greek elements, and Anatolian colors, which include the Ottoman and Byzantine, created a rich musical accumulation, which is today called Balkan music, with a unique interaction.

Balkan music is very close to Turkish culture. For years he lived in the same territory as similar cultures and shared the Balkan and Eastern European countries, this is the music of the Gypsies in Turkey. Music in the Balkans differs considerably from the rest of Europe because all of the Balkan peoples have a cultural background with the Ottoman Empire and the most important feature of this music is its complex rhythm.

With the development of communication opportunities, even the bands in America or Northern Europe will understand the warmth of this music and they started to make Balkan folk by taking instruments in their hands. In addition, groups from Bulgaria, Hungary or Macedonia are also trying to introduce this music to the world by performing the east-west synthesis.
